P7 Post Primary Transfer

23rd Feb 2021

Dear P7 parents,

The Education Authority (EA) have informed schools that a number of resources have been prepared to guide parents of P7 children who will be transferring to post-primary school in September 2021. Please read the admissions criteria for your chosen schools carefully, before making your application. Ensure you put at least 4 choices of school on your form.

Attached for your attention is a copy of an information leaflet, "Applying for a Post-Primary Place". This leaflet is not relevant for those pupils with a statement of special educational needs.

We appreciate this has been a very challenging year for our P7 pupils and parents, as they try to navigate choosing their post-primary preferences, with lockdown circumstances and a new online process. We are here to help parents over the next couple of weeks. P7 teachers and myself will be available to discuss your application. Please contact me via email and we can arrange for a phone call or email response, if you require any guidance or advice.

A post-primary Application Tutorial Video-Desktop view" providing a step-by-step guide to the online application is now available and a mobile phone view will follow shortly. You can access the videos at https://www.eani.org.uk/school-manangement/ea-digital-admissions-online-resource-hub/videos-presentations

Materials are also accessible on the EA website: https://wwww/eani/org.uk/parents/admissions/admissions-videos-and-guidance

https://www.eani.org.uk/search-schools

Applications will be accessible from 12noon on Mon 1 March until 4pm on Tues 16 March.
