We all enjoyed a fun day to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III tomorrow. The children looked fantastic as they dressed as kings, queens, princes and princesses for the day. Many Primary 3 children took part in the design and make a crown competition. Well done everyone .... you are all very creative and the crowns you made were just brilliant!
The school children all took part in a parade around the playground and then we went to the assembly hall for a sing-song. The children enjoyed singing a song written about the coronation. After our ‘street party’ themed lunch we had an outdoor disco in the sunshine! Before heading home, the children completed some coronation themed activities and watched a short film about what happens on coronation day.
All children received a book entitled ‘The new king’ and a beautiful leather bookmark. We hope the children have left today with many happy memories of how they celebrated the coronation of the king at Ballydown Primary School.
