P3 winter walk

11th Jan 2023

Today we enjoyed a chilly winter walk around our playground. We identified deciduous and evergreen trees. We also discussed how some animals are kept warm in their barns in winter and the need to feed the birds that are in our gardens and around school. We talked about temperatures in winter and how when it is really cold, the temperature can go below 0oC and we then talk about minus numbers. The sun is low in the sky in winter time and it doesn’t rise until later and it sets earlier. This means that we have more hours of darkness in winter.
