P4 - January Activities

2nd Feb 2026

January has been a busy month for P4. They have started a new topic about Endangered Animals. P4 have had great fun researching facts about animals. They have painted pictures of animals and created a wall collage. Using ICT, P4 created posters on Microsoft PowerPoint. They programmed Beebot to move to different locations on an animal safari map. Amelie’s mum came in to tell us about her adventures in an elephant reserve in Thailand. Mrs Dowds showed us lots of photos and told us some new facts about elephants. Everyone enjoyed the presentation and asked lots of questions. There were lots of Activity Based Learning activities to enjoy: playing with the animals to create zoo enclosures, using Lego to create animals, playing Guess Who games about animals, world map and animal jigsaws and playing Let’s Go with Katy on the computer. Everyone participated in Maths Day activities. There were lots of maths games to play: bingo place value, money games, time games and multiplication games. P4 and P5 did a Maths Trail around the school grounds. It was great fun working working in a group of three to solve the maths problems. Burns Skills have been doing PE each Monday morning. It has been good fun doing lots of different games.
